The Toyota Fortuner 2024 is a midsize SUV built by Toyota on the Hilux pickup truck. It was first launched in December 2004 with four engine options, two petrol and two diesel, and the option of RWD or 4WD configuration. The first generation Fortuner also had a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4- or 5-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Fortuner 2024 Overview

In 2008, the first generation Toyota Fortuner received its first facelift with more features like projector headlamps, new rear lights, and Bluetooth connectivity. The second facelift came in 2011, with new fenders, hood, grille, headlamps, tail lamps, bumpers, and fog light housings. Fortuner 2.7 VVT-i and TRD Sportivo, both with the 2.7-litre 2TR-FE engine.  In 2015, the second generation Toyota Fortuner was launched, with a new ‘no look’ design language distinct from the Hilux. It comes with advanced features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags plus knee airbags, follow me home light function, all-round sensor, glove box with chiller function, digital automatic climate control, and all auto power windows with tilt and tilt. Telescopic steering wheel, as standard.  The second-generation Fortuner facelift was launched in September 2016 with a petrol variant. In January 2020, Toyota Indus also launched the G trim as the base petrol model of the Fortuner.

The Toyota Fortuner 2nd generation facelift sports a bold design with a dominant pontoon-shaped bumper with a raised grille. The distinctive headlights are matched with sharply designed daytime running lights (DRLs). The turn signal and position lamps have been separated from the headlamps, along with the fog lamps. Side mirrors are color-coded, auto-folding, electrically operated, and house side indicators. At the rear of the car is a purposeful spoiler with high-mount stop lamps. The Sigma 4 and 2.7 V variants have LED-type rear lamps, while the G trim has standard rear lamps.

The leather-wrapped interior of the Toyota Fortuner 2nd generation facelift is luxurious and comfortable. The Fortuner Sigma 4 and Fortuner V have a combination of chamois and black interiors, while the G trim comes with an all-black interior. The high-resolution 4.2-inch TFT display provides the driver with vehicle information such as a digital speed display, selectable driving mode (ECO or Sport), tailgate status, wheel alignment indication, outside temperature reading, and other trip-related details.  The new Fortuner comes with push-button start/stop technology and supports smart entry with a smart key that also has a panic button. Illuminated entry is a standard feature in all Fortuner trims. The leather-wrapped steering wheel features tilt and telescopic adjustments. Hydraulic power steering comes with fingertip controls for accessing audio, calls, VR, and MID Premium. The center fascia houses an 8.95-inch capacitive display that supports ApplePlay and Android Auto. The infotainment system offers access to Bluetooth, screen mirroring, voice recognition, USB, mic, and Wi-Fi. 6 speakers provide a good in-car audio experience. The Toyota Fortuner is also loaded with safety features such as Hill Start Assist Control with Vehicle Stability Control and Traction System Control in the G trim, while the Sigma 4 and V trims get additional features like Active Traction Control, Downhill Assist Control, and a Limited Slip Differential System. are . All trims get drive start control, tire turning angle information, an emergency brake signal, a light reminder, a shift lock system, an anti-theft system, and an anti-lock braking system. The Sigma 4 trim also features an exclusive engine oil leveling warning. Front dual airbags and knee airbags are also available for the front passengers.

The second-generation Toyota Fortuner facelift comes with two engine options. 2.7-liter DOHC 16-valve chain drive with a dual VVTi engine (petrol) is 2694 cc. It produces a maximum power of 122/5200 kW/rpm at a torque of 245/4000 Nm/rpm. The second engine is a 2.8-liter DOHC 16-valve engine with a 2755-cc intercooler (diesel). It produces a maximum power of 150/3000–3400 kW/rpm at a torque of 500/1600–2800 Nm/rpm.
